I had the pleasure of touring a David Weekley Homes community back in September 2017 while exploring my Smyrna neighborhood. The week following my visit I brought my best friend through the same community and met with one of their fantastic agents, Pat Stevenson. I was immediately in love with the properties and community being developed. I went home that evening and made the suggestion to my friend to invest in a David Weekley Home. I can happily say within a few days she was officially under contract.
The high-quality craftsmanship, community planning foresight, and sales team atmosphere were so attractive I knew I wanted to be a part of that experience. I did my homework and within 3 weeks I enrolled at Barney Fletcher’s Real Estate School. I passed my course exam, drove down to Savannah and passed my state exam on my first attempt. Becoming an agent and contributing team member of the David Weekley Homes family is what I wanted to do. I’m was willing to learn as much and do what it took to become a valuable team member if given the opportunity.
My direct sales experience in real estate was limited but I had a wealth of knowledge in service, sales, homeownership, and business management. I had been participating in the real estate business for over 2 years prior in a marketing capacity photographing properties, drafting floor plans, and creating marketing materials for over 1,200 properties while at PlanOmatic and for private clients.
Unfortunately, I did not meet their qualifications to join the team. I took my disappointment and immediately used it to improve my experience and practical application of my real estate license. I began building my client list, touring homes, hosting open houses, and learning more about the real estate market (specifically my Smyrna and Metro Atlanta community). Since then, I've closed on multiple contracts (both buying and selling). My love of real estate and my Smyrna community as a whole has continued to grow.
